Project Overview
Wenergy deployed a 250kW / 516kWh Commercial & Industrial Battery Energy Storage System (C&I BESS) for a bus charging station in Poland.
The project integrates on-site photovoltaic (PV) generation with energy storage to maximize solar self-consumption and reduce grid electricity costs associated with nighttime bus charging.

Operating Logic
Daytime Operation: The system automatically charges using excess on-site solar generation, increasing PV utilization efficiency.
Nighttime Operation: Stored energy is discharged to power bus charging activities, reducing dependence on high-cost grid electricity.
Key Value
Maximized PV Self-Consumption: Improves utilization rate of locally generated solar energy
Reduced Grid Dependency: Offsets nighttime charging demand with stored renewable energy
Lower Operating Costs: Avoids peak grid electricity prices
Supports Sustainable Transport: Enables clean energy integration into public bus charging infrastructure
This project demonstrates how a compact energy storage system enhances renewable energy utilization and optimizes operational efficiency in EV charging applications.
